2024 Volkswagen Taos S AWD

2024 Volkswagen Taos S AWD Performance and Capability

The 2024 Volkswagen Taos S is built around a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 158 horsepower with an eager, low-end torque curve that makes this small SUV feel more energetic than its footprint suggests. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Volkswagen's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system, the Taos sends power confidently to all four wheels, a real advantage when you're navigating slick Western New York winters or simply want steadier grip on wet on-ramps and gravel driveways. The AWD setup shifts torque to the rear axle when the road turns unpredictable, then returns to efficient front-drive operation for everyday commuting. Tautly tuned suspension and quick, communicative steering give the Taos an approachable, city-friendly character while still holding composure at highway speed, making it as comfortable on a weekend road trip as it is threading through daily errands.

2024 Volkswagen Taos S AWD Interior and Comfort Features

Inside, the Taos S wraps its occupants in durable gray and black fabric upholstery that suits an active lifestyle and everyday practicality. The cabin is genuinely roomy for the segment, offering generous rear legroom and a flexible cargo area that swallows luggage, groceries, and gear with ease thanks to the split-folding rear seatback. Thoughtful touches like air conditioning, supportive front seating, and clean, logically arranged controls keep the driving experience relaxed and uncomplicated. Wide door openings and a tall greenhouse make loading passengers and cargo simple, while the quiet, well-insulated interior keeps road noise at bay on longer drives.

2024 Volkswagen Taos S AWD Fuel Economy and Efficiency

Efficiency is one of the Taos S's strongest everyday arguments. Running on regular gasoline, this turbocharged all-wheel-drive crossover carries EPA-estimated ratings of 28 mpg in the city, 35 mpg on the highway, and 31 mpg combined. That balance of turbocharged performance and frugal fuel use means fewer stops at the pump on your commute and confident range on longer highway hauls, all without sacrificing the security of full-time all-wheel-drive traction.

2024 Volkswagen Taos S AWD Technology and Connectivity

The Taos S keeps you connected through a responsive touchscreen infotainment system with Volkswagen's App-Connect, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration. A configurable digital instrument display puts key driving information directly in your line of sight, while available Bluetooth connectivity, USB-C charging, and clean menu logic make it easy to manage calls, navigation, and audio on the move. It's a straightforward, modern tech package that keeps the focus on driving rather than fiddling with menus.

2024 Volkswagen Taos S AWD Safety and Driver Assistance

Volkswagen equips the Taos S with a robust foundation of driver-assistance technology, including forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian monitoring, plus blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert to help you change lanes and back out of parking spots with added confidence. A rearview camera, multiple airbags, and a rigid safety structure round out the protective package, giving drivers and passengers reassurance in daily traffic and on the open road alike.
