2023 Acura TLX Type S w/Performance Tire AWD

2023 Acura TLX Type S SH-AWD Performance and Capability

The 2023 Acura TLX Type S is the sharpest expression of Acura's sport sedan, built around a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that produces 355 horsepower and routes it through a quick-shifting 10-speed automatic. What sets the Type S apart is Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, which actively shuffles torque side to side across the rear axle to pull the car through corners with genuine precision rather than just planting it in a straight line. Adaptive dampers, a stiffer sport-tuned chassis, and larger Brembo front brakes give the TLX the composure to back up its horsepower, while Integrated Dynamics System drive modes let you dial the throttle, steering, and exhaust from comfortable cruising to full Sport+ aggression. That same SH-AWD traction and confident chassis make the Type S a steady, surefooted companion through slick Western New York winters, where power delivery to all four wheels matters as much as it does on a dry back road.

2023 Acura TLX Type S SH-AWD Interior and Comfort Features

Inside, the Type S wraps its driver in sport seats finished in Ebony Black leather, with heated front seating, power adjustment, and bolstering that holds you in place during spirited driving without punishing you on longer trips. The cabin carries Acura's driver-focused layout with a wrapped steering wheel, aluminum sport pedals, and ambient interior lighting that lends the space a premium nighttime feel. Dual-zone automatic climate control keeps both front occupants comfortable, and the available panoramic moonroof brings light and air into the cabin. Soft-touch materials, tight panel fit, and a low, planted seating position reinforce that this is a performance sedan designed to feel special every time you climb in. The Apex Blue Pearl exterior is one of the signature Type S colors and pairs cleanly with the dark leather interior.

2023 Acura TLX Type S SH-AWD Fuel Economy and Efficiency

Powered by its turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 running on premium fuel, the TLX Type S carries an EPA-estimated 19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. Those are strong numbers for a 355-horsepower all-wheel-drive performance sedan, and the 10-speed automatic helps keep highway revs low for relaxed, efficient cruising when you're not chasing the redline. The result is a car that can deliver genuine sport-sedan thrills during the week and still return reasonable mileage on a long interstate haul.

2023 Acura TLX Type S SH-AWD Technology and Connectivity

The TLX centers its technology around a crisp central display controlled by Acura's True Touchpad Interface, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration for seamless smartphone connectivity. The Type S steps up the audio with the available ELS Studio 3D premium sound system, engineered specifically for the TLX cabin and tuned to deliver clean, immersive playback. A configurable digital instrument display puts performance and navigation data directly in the driver's line of sight, and conveniences like push-button start, wireless device connectivity, and multiple USB ports keep everyone charged and connected. Available head-up display projects key readouts onto the windshield so you can keep your eyes on the road ahead.

2023 Acura TLX Type S SH-AWD Safety and Driver Assistance

The TLX arrives with the AcuraWatch suite of driver-assistance technology, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, and a collision mitigation braking system that can detect a potential frontal impact and apply the brakes to help reduce severity. Blind spot information, rear cross traffic monitoring, and a multi-angle rearview camera add confidence in traffic and tight parking situations. A rigid body structure, a full complement of airbags, and the inherent stability of SH-AWD round out a safety package that complements the car's performance credentials.
